It is a trap! It is nearly impossible to get it off of your account when it comes time to renew your account. They don’t give you the option during checkout, you have to go through their “partner” domainsbyproxy. BUT they never give you login information for them during signup, so you have no way of getting in to turn it off. Then you have to start jumping through hoops faxing them your Drivers License and whatnot to verify your identification just so they will give you a login ID, and by the time they get around to all this, your domain is expired and owned by some guy in Korea with a million domains under his belt…. Bottom line, DON’T DO IT! In fact, a lot of us are getting together to consider reporting this practice to the BBB and possibly opening up a class-action lawsuit for unfair business practices…
